Coming up is the one about Aunt Bea  learning to drive. I have always felt that there was a stand-in each time "she" was behind the wheel. And they used someone else who had the same build as her, could even be a man, and they also used the hat as a common focal point so the viewers were duly tricked into believing  it was always Francis Bavier. Anyone agree or disagree?

P.S.---Back in the '60s it was not common for women to drive cars. Anyhow, where would Bea go, why would she need a car? And and and it makes it even more odd that she took flying lessons at a later time. Were they running out of plot ideas? Did the series last too long? Is it true Barney was the lifeblood of Mayberry?

Aunt Bee needed the car to run up to Walnut Hills and hob nob with the rich folks. Also, she needed to drive to her flying lessons. And she needed it to do her cooking tv show. She was a busy bee once things all got colorized!
