When the "Return to Mayberry" was done, I would have replicated Wally's Garage as it was in the original show.  I just have a hard time with the looks of the new place.  A big metal bldg. just looks strange for the Pyle boys.  Did I mention that I don't like change?

Me neither!  But I do kind of like the stamp machine at the post office.

And the fact they changed the squad car from a Ford to a Chevy really frosted me. I'm just glad my dad, a Ford Motor Co. retiree and major TAGS fan, wasn't alive to see it.

If it had been a Ford, Andy wouldn't have had all of those lurching problems!!

And another thing!  We don't need the likes of Wally Butler putting up that fancy hotel and restaurant!!  The one down from the courthouse is good enough for me!!  I'd also have Opie living in the Taylor home.  That way, Andy and Helen would only have to move back in that wonderful place!

That's when the movie lost me, when they got into that silly sea monster bit with the resort developer.

Our favorite saying around these parts is:  "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"

The more like the original Mayberry that "Return to Mayberry" could have been, the better.  Especially, as Susan pointed out, we needed Taylors living in the Taylor house.

I did not enjoy Return To Mayberry AT ALL!    I guess I was just too big a fan of the old original TAGS, especially the black and white episodes.   When Andy stepped out of that car during the opening scene of Return To Mayberry, I didn't see Andy Taylor.........I saw Matlock!   That kind of ruined it for me.   I really don't like reunion shows in general, sometimes I think they should just leave well enough alone.   And no, like somebody else already said, I don't like change.

The part I liked most was Barney and Thel finally getting married!  Sniff! Sniff!
