Have you seen this man?

Something Steve L. posted the other day gave me an idea.  This guy appears in almost every episode of TAGS.  He plays everything from a bystander to a construction worker.  In some episodes he is a member of the choir.  In others he just walks through the scene.  Sometimes he is just a face in the crowd.  You have to really look close to spot him but the more you look for him, the more he appears.  How about we play Spot Tom and see just how many times he shows up and what his role is each time. 

I spotted Tom in 'Aunt Bee the Warden'.  He was the guy who brought Otis the ladder so he could climb down from the roof and escape from 'The Rock' aka Aunt Bee's prison.  Of course she was waiting for him at the bottom.

I spotted Tom again in Ernest T. Bass Joins the Army.  He is walking across the street waving to Barney and Andy in the opening scene.

Barney says, "What's the matter haven't you ever seen a man talk off a dress before" S3E13, The Bank Job. This guy just stares. That looks like the episode you took the photo capture above from.

Yep, he is walking by as Barney is leaving the beauty shop after he busts out of the safe.  Still funny after all these years.

I spotted Tom standing on the bulldozer when Andy and Barney arrive at Mr. Frisbee's house in 'Aunt Bee The Crusader'.  He is also the guy Andy asks to help him move the furniture out of the house.

Tom appeared in the "Luck of Newton Monroe" as a possible customer of Don Rickles before Andy and Barney told him and his lady friend (she also appeared as a walk on in many eps) to move on.

I noticed that too Ray.  Alot of times she and Tom appear together.

I found another Tom scene.  In 'The Woman Speeder' Mr. Tom is sitting in the back row during the hearing in the courthouse.

I remember seeing him looking really pleased with himself and smiling at Andy.  I think he had fixed up his business for the Hollywood movie like everybody else.  He looked pretty different without his hat.

As God is my witness (as Miss Scarlet said), I've never noticed Tom before!  How can this be?  I have obviously been sleeping on the job and will now be on the alert for "Tom sightings".  Thanks for cluing me in, ya'll.

I saw Tom in 'Opie And The Carnival'.  He is at the duck shooting gallery at the beginning.

And when he leaves, he walks across the midway and can be seen again on the right side of the drink stand that Opie is walking away from.

BTW Highly annoying that a Mayberry website spellchecker lists Opie and Mayberry  as misspelled words!
