What do you suppose some of them might have been thinking of on January 1st?
I think Mrs. Mendlebright might have resolved to get after some of the clutter in her house. I'm not saying she was a hoarder but she did still have her mother's dresser ( that came all the way from Ft Lauderdale) and there might still be leftovers from that mushroom growing project in the cellar.
If she's been hanging onto all the things her boarders have left behind, her attic might be about to come down on someone's head.
