There are obviously some pretty smart members of this forum when it comes to Mayberry trivia.  I thought of something that should challenge the most astute of you wise guys and gals.  Lots of people where mentioned only once or twice and maybe never even shown but they had important roles in the script.  How about we list the names of the more obscure characters of TAGS.  One person could list one and the rest of us can try to guess who they are and what their role was.

If you answer one go ahead and leave one for the next person.

I'll start. Here are a few.

Who was old man Schlummer?

Who was Shorty?

Who was Buckley?

Wow!  You started right off with the hard ones, didn't you Dud?  I don't have a clue about those three.  But knowing the brilliance of iMayberry peeps, an answer will be along shortly (or "Shorty" - ha).

I believe Mr. Schlummer was the real estate agent in the episode Barney tries to sell houses.

I'll take a stab at old man Schlummer.  Was he the owner of the haunted house in Mayberry?

That was Rimshaw, of course.  O.K  Schlummer must have been.... Danged if I know....

Old Man Schlummer was the guy that got Barney into real estate in "Barney Fife, Realtor"

Who was Gilley Walker?

Was old man Shlummer the one who called Barney a scamp?

Nope.  Good guess.

Buckley was a former sheriff. I believe he was mentioned in "Citizen's Arrest". Right?

Who was Laura Lee Hobbs?

Yes, I think he was the Andy's predecessor.
