iMayberry Community

Some outlandish statements were made by various citizens of Mayberry on different occasions.  Let's think about (or, as Gomer would say as he replaced the bucket over his head, "thank about") the most outlandish/shocking/off-the-wall comments ever made by Mayberrians:

I'll start:

Surely one of the most unexpected, and if I didn't love him so, I would almost say "dumb," questions ever asked was Gomer's.  He had been farred by Wally for being "insufficient in his duties".  He had heard that there was an opening at the meat market.  Andy asks, "Do you know anything about cutting meat?"

Gomer:  "Do you thank they'll ask me that?"

First thing I thought of was Barney's "will you help us?", when Andy wanted the boys to form a Mayberry Minutemen club.

Floyd comes up with some great statements. After the lawyer from Mt. Pilot stops by to try and extract money for the fall Otis had, he says "Isn't that a nice man!"

It just proves one thing:  If you want a decent suit you have to go to Mt. Pilot.

Goober, in Goober Makes History, speaking to a piece of fruit:

"One time, you was a seed!"

Gomer: "Could be your gauge, sometimes she'll tell you F when you got yourself on E, E means that its empty F means that its full"

I before E except after C and E before N in Chicken.

I always forget that rule.

Otherwise you get chickne and who ever heard of fried chickne?

One of my favorites--if Aunt Bee weren't so serious--is her comment to Andy before leaving to take care of an ailing relative:  "She slept in a creen and she got the versitis!"

Always wondered what a "creen" was????

I don't know Thel, I looked it up and didn't have much luck.

I looked it up in "Urban Dictionary".  It means "incredibly awesome".

Say what?  Don't think that fits with what Aunt Bee said.

I've been studying on this and I have a theory. On Netflix, the subtitles say, "She slept with her neck in a crane....." Could that be a down-home way of saying that she slept with her neck stretched out some?
