Just watched this one again, and wow, Peggy was so cute!! So was Mary and Ellie...Wasn't that fond of Karen, Thelma Lou's cousin...Just don'y think that Helen holds a candle to Ellie, Peggy or Mary, in personality or looks..lol Guess Andy was OK with it...

....up until Andy finally left a became a U.S. postal inspector in Cleveland. (isn't that where he went and later retired from?) There he was a medium sized fish in a medium sized pond.
Helen was good for Andy, and Andy was good for her.

It's in RETURN TO MAYBERRY (1986) that we learn that he's left a postal inspector job in Cleveland to come back and run for Sheriff.
