Howdy y'all! Wayyy back, a loonnng time ago, I was a member of the old Miss Crump's Black Board message board. We sure had a lot of fun on there. My handle was JL327. Anybody on here that remembers that? Any word from Uncle Joe?

Sorry, I don't remember you, JL, but I remember Uncle Joe. Funny man. Haven't heard from him.

Permalink Reply by albert wbmutbb on June 18, 2012 at 10:49pm The old Miss Crumps was a cool little site. With its colored text, the way it scrolled upwards, and the fact that there were no rooms/forums to hide within... everybody's business was right up front and this made for some wild and rowdy times. Folks were nice most of the time, but when they weren't.... man! It was like Fred and Jenny Boone's on a Saturday night!!
Even more so, registration wasn't necessary to post. (only if you wanted to secure a personalized name) By not having to register, quite a mix of "out-of-towners" would show up all the time.
(the different colors offered for the text was quite impressive too. more colors available than a handful or rainbows!!)
Permalink Reply by Allan "Floyd" Newsome on June 19, 2012 at 8:33am Miss Crump's was a great place but dealing with the problems caused by a few of the visitors finally lead me to have to close it down. The "OLD" Miss Crump's you're talking about, Scott, will always have a very special place in my heart. It was the first forum about The Andy Griffith Show and I loved the flow of conversation. There were problems there but eventually they fell off the board never to have to be dealt with again.
I hope that the same feelings of friendship and community are being built right here at the iMayberry Community. I believe that is happening. We already have more members here than we had on the old forum so we are well on our way. Folks wish happy birthday to one another and the conversations in the forum are interesting...even for us "old timers." :)

Permalink Reply by Keevy Hazelton on June 19, 2012 at 11:27am The original Miss Crump's Blackboard was one of my very first web destinations back in 1997. I remember you, JL. I was the original Al Becker. Drifted away for a few years and when I returned, someone else was using Al Becker so I became Ed Crumbpacker. Been Keevy Hazleton for sometime now. Wonder whatever became of Phil (Sunkel.)
I wasn't on "the old" Miss Crump's but was on Miss Crump's when it closed down. It was fun, wasn't it? But any time we can talk about TAGS is a fun time, IMHO.

Permalink Reply by Allan "Floyd" Newsome on June 20, 2012 at 8:32pm In looking for old versions of "Miss Crump's", I found a page I made several years ago to demonstrate how the Mayberry / iMayberry.com web site has changed over the years since 1995 when the per-cursor of the site started. There are examples of what the site looked back then and several versions in-between.
Maybe you'd like to check it out to and see some of the history.
