Just watched this episode and toward the end, Opie asked Karen if she wanted ride their bikes to Walkers for a soda after the movie. One of the few references I remember of Walkers Drugs after Ellie was kicked to the curb...

Good point, David.  Maybe they quit giving away ice cream cones on a feller's birthday and business dropped off after that?

Miss Ellie was perfect for Andy, wasn't she?  Smart, pretty, perky, and she and Opie had good chemistry.  Maybe if she had come along later they would have kept her.

I agree...Her and Opie did seem to have great chemistry...I also wonder if it was just a timing deal...As she was the 1st GF for Andy. After Ellie, he had numerous girls that were short and longer term..Karen, Nurse Mary (played by 2 actresses) and of course Peggy...So when Helen came around, maybe the timing had arrived for a long term GF...Could have been Ellie!!  LOL

"Of course one of the biggest mysteries of all:  What happened to Ellie?  Anybody got any ideas within the storyline of TAGS of possible scenarios?"

"I'm guessing that frozen-dinner thing.  Hard to picture Helen sitting around the house eating bon-bons or donning an apron and slaving over a hot stove.  Good thing Andy likes those frozen dinners!"

"Well, it depends on the chronology you use. As we found in "The Case of the Punch in the Nose," there can be discrepancies of nearly 20 years with these things. Knotts was about 63 and Betty Lynn was only a couple of years behind him at…"
