iMayberry Community

I’m not sure if this has been discussed before, or even if you wish to discuss it. Collectively, the forum members hold a vast knowledge of the citizens of Mayberry. Over time, we have learned many things about citizens that we have never seen. As example,
“Juanita Juanita Juanit”, works as a waitress where the trucks all stop thus requires Barney to make “trouble checks”.
Sara or Sarah, Telephone exchange operator with several ailments that require “soaking”. We also know she “takes a pinch of snuff now and then.”
Who else do we know, and what is their uniqueness? This could also be done in the form of a quiz.

Who works at the “lingerie shop” and the subject of town gossip?

Myra Koontz, I believe.

I was just thinking of Clark Cooper.  If it’s a quiz, I’d ask who has he been keeping steady company with (for five years)?

Yes, Myra is correct.  Clark Cooper keeps company with Clara.  He also cuts holes in his shoes.

This doesn't have to be in the form of a quiz.  Just un-seen people and what they are known for.

Emmett Clark mentions Emerson, Fletcher Emerson, that is. Ol Fletch was famous for his saying “Think the rain will hurt the rhubarb?”

Jim Summers runs the local meat market.  He is in and out of the cooler so much his wife takes a hot water bottle to bed to thaw him out.  (Irresistible Andy)

Here's one in the form of a quiz.  A daily double no less.

Two different characters, who were never seen, were named Ralph Baker on the show.  Name them both.

One Ralph Baker was handcuffed to the school flag pole.  I will have to do some time in the bucket for the second.

Yup, that’s one of ‘em, Shorty.  Got Opie banned from the courthouse and planting spinach!

Seems like Andy once mentioned a friend named Ralph Baker who lived up at the state capital.

Yup, Andy’s friend Ralph Baker, from the State Attorneys office, sent Bob Rogers to Mayberry in “Barney’s Replacement.”

Wanna buy a vacuum?

Yes,  now I remember.

Certainly more of a country girl, but I would crossed the Robert E. Lee bridge just to see the young lady with the pretty, French name, Hogette Winslow.

Don't forget Idale Bushey.  Dud has not lost it all for her.
