USMC In Mayberry
Last night I just noticed something new. In the episode "The Episode of Ernest T. Bass" Disc 1, 5th Season.
When Ernest T. was sitting on the curb waiting for Helen Crump to show up, as the camera began to move away you can see a U.S. Marine Corp Recruiting Sign across the street from him, as the shot continues to pull back an official USMC sedan moves across the screen.
I just thought this was so neat! They must have been filming an episode of Gomer Pyle USMC at the same time over at Camp Henderson...LOL.
I would love to do a screen shot of that my Studio 14 program is not working on the import feature, trying to get that fixed!

Here ya go John, please forgive the crude photo, but only way I could get it was with the digital camera shot of the frames on the computer screen. The USMC recruiting sign is at 18:33 and the car is at 18:36. So you can surely see how fast this goes across the screen, about 3 seconds. I know I have watched this so many times, but never really noticed the sign and the USMC sedan until last night !

Good eye Tim. I checked the TAGS episode guide on Wikipedia, and 'The Education of Ernest T. Bass' first aired October 12, 1964. Gomer Pyle USMC was in its first season at that time.
