Some folks in Mayberry seem like they don't do ANYTHING for a living.  They must have some source of income, though.  And there are some very interesting occupations in The Friendly Town.  Let's name the person and what they do for a living.  If we don't know for sure we could mention clues as to what the occupation might be:

I'll start with an easy one:

Thelma Lou "works at the office."

Rance Howard ...

Fired as a T-man for letting info on the gold truck get out.

Fired as the Governor's chauffeur after getting a parking ticket.

Fired as a bus driver after losing a passenger in Currytuck.

Olive is a waitress at the diner. She could always use an extra quarter.
Chuck O'Malley:I thinks he is a business man with his hands in a lot of things, has a business interest in Detroit, good citizen, gives Shireff Taylor a hand when needed.

of course, his wife's father was Jensen, of Jensen Orthopedic Loafers, he cleaned up when the old man passed away...

At one time Otis was a glue dipper at the furniture factory but I think his hobby used up most of the proceeds.

Sarah was the phone operator

Gilly Walker was a NASCAR race car driver. All he did was speed, speed, speed!
I believe "Tom" was a secret window shopper. He always seem to be around during a street gathering. But unfortunately that job ended after Season 5.

Jeff Pruitt was a farmer by golly!  and there never was a Pruitt that wore a suit n tie, or rode a cup n saucer on his knee!

Gomer and Goober pumped gas and worked on cars at Wally's Service Station.  Of course Gomer got a gig with his Uncle Sammy later on:)

Helen was a teacher.

"Helen, anything wrong with my eyes?  You a teacher."

Howard was the County Clerk

Floyd Lawson was the.....uh, um......uh, the, uh......oh, yes.....the barber.
