This topic is WAY out of my league so I won't even contribute one to prime the pump.  But I do believe this will be fun for all you auto-oriented TAGS fans.  Let's list actual vehicles that appeared on the show by make and model, if possible.  Plus, we can add any references to automobiles made by the citizens of The Friendly Town.  Even TV commercials for cars/trucks or magazine ads for them are fair game.  Well, shucks, let's open it up to even a mention of an automaker on the show.  No telling what may come driving by....

I will start with an easy one. Their patrol car was a Ford Fairlane. Seemed to be a lot of Fords.

What make and model was "Barney's car"?  You know, the one they played the snake-charmer music for:)?

That car made some of the most interesting sounds I've ever heard a car make.  No wonder Gomer's diagnosis was so severe.  Every part was worn out or broken!

Poor Barney.  Our "Man of the World" swallowed that scam hook, line, and sinker, didn't he?

"Barney First Car" I believe is a 1954 Ford Customline. If you look at Mrs. Lesch when she drives up and wipes it off you can see the model name. At the beginning he is reading the ad and it says a 1954 Ford Sedan. (sedan is not a model name)

the patrol car was a Ford Galaxie

What "brand" was the famous car Goober took apart and worked on in the Sheriff's office?

A 1960 Rambler American...I know this because a guy I know has one.

I think Briscoe Darling drove a 1929 Ford Model AA truck. It was normally good for eleven hat-fulls when it over heated.

Malcolm Tucker drove a Lincoln Continental

The Governor's car was a Cadillac Fleetwood

The Darling's truck was a 1929 Ford Model AA

This is from "The Bank Job" and I find kind of interesting. Ford was the sponsor for cars on the show but in this picture we see a VW Beetle, a GM car (either a Buick or Chevrolet) and then a 55, 56 or 57 Ford Thunderbird. They appear to be leaning against a Ford Falcon.

Awesome auto photos, Dave.  Wonder who's driving that cool Thunderbird?

Laura Lee Hobbs?

Maybe Myra Koontz?
