This has come up before. Seems in almost every episode the mail slot is there in the door. I have tried to keep track, and in at least one show, the handyman, the slot is gone, and George, the…Continue

Mystery Car

Started this discussion. Last reply by Gary W. Burg Feb 4. 9 Replies

In two episodes there's an old Ford car, dull and unpolished, looks like a 1951. In a Malcolm Merriweather show, he rides up on his bike and the car is parked in Andy's driveway. In another, Barney…Continue

"Of course, Shorty, but do you feel TAGS is unique in this way? There were movies back then, not to say years before then. It's fun to notice and talk about, more fun to be sure than seeing all the same episodes cycling over and over and over…"

"Let me preface the following by saying, and it has been said before, back in the 60’s when TAGS was being created, those creating the show had no thoughts that TAGS would have such a following 50+ years later. They also, had no knowledge that…"

Yes, trivia and inconsistencies...TriviaThis is the only episode of TAGS where all three Howard men appear: Rance, Ron and Clint.Mayberry is thought to be based on Griffith's hometown of Mount Airy, NC. The Mail Slot

This has come up before. Seems in almost every episode the mail slot is there in the door. I have tried to keep track, and in at least one show, the handyman, the slot is gone, and George, the mailman walks in and hands the mail to Andy. In another show, I believe, Barney goes to the post office to get the mail. Simply another inconsistency. In the interest of our collective mental health, it may be best if we just stop following minutia. Or is it all too much fun?See More

"When Barney talked about snow cones, Andy said he was 35. When we do the math, 1948 is a better bet for a graduation year."

"Thanks and a tip of the hat to you. You point out an inconsistency that's actually a contradiction. By the way, I'm taking this opportunity to name the staff member responsible for continuity: Hazel Hall."
