James Murphy replied to Thelscuz's discussion Money, Honey
"In the Season 8 episode "Emmett's Anniversary", Emmett wants to buy his wife a fur coat for their 25th wedding anniversary which costs $1,800, even with 40% off. Then a cheaper one for $1,100, then another for $850. At first he says…"

"Jack Dodson played Ralph Malph's father (Mickey Malph) in Happy Days on three occasions. He was an optometrist that in this episode was going to prescribe glasses for Fonzie (very uncool). This is from the Season 3 episode, Sight For Sore Eyes."

James Murphy replied to UT Pendike's discussion B&W vs COLOR
"By-and-large the black-and-white episodes are probably better in general, one reason was the show was fresher and also Don Knotts leaving left a big hole that was never filled. But there are good and not-so-good B&W episodes plus good and…"

James Murphy replied to Dud's discussion What Mayberry characters do you wish you could have seen more of?
"If characters that appeared in only one episode qualify, then I'd say Mr Frisby (Charles Lane) from Aunt Bee The Crusader. Also Newton Monroe (Don Rickles) from The Luck Of Newton Monroe. Not so much the characters, but I just love those…"

James Murphy replied to Gary W. Burg's discussion Okay, Which Is It ---Pike or Stoner ?
"Mayor Pike for me. I find Stoner rather aggravating as well. Some people like that sort of character, but it drives me mad. But then I often find that with roles that Parley Baer plays, he was similarly aggravating (sometimes) as one of Ozzie &…"

James Murphy replied to Gary W. Burg's discussion Episodes With Unbelievable Aspects
"Re: Mayberry On Record. These liberties are often taken on TV and in movies. Often when someone makes a home movie in a TV show or a movie, it will be shot with an 8mm movie camera and when they screen it (in the show) it looks like 35mm quality. So…"
