Still Mourning the Passing of Andy Griffith 2 Weeks Later

Upon hearing the news of the passing of Don Knotts, I was deeply saddened for about a day. But news of the passing of Andy Griffith is still like a punch in the stomach, 2 weeks after hearing of it.…Continue

JD replied to Susan Plesha's discussion If you could, would you move to Mayberry?
"Absolutely...but only on the condition that Walmart ceases to exist. That monstrosity of a retail monopoly, as we all know, has pretty much killed small-town America. And what's worse is that nobody seems to care, just as long as they get all…"

"The single greatest scene from the entire run of TAGS is Andy and Barn on the front porch waiting for Mrs. Lesh. The greatest line ever from TAGS is Barn telling Andy that he got his parents a septic tank as a gift. My favorite episode and my…"

Still Mourning the Passing of Andy Griffith 2 Weeks Later

Upon hearing the news of the passing of Don Knotts, I was deeply saddened for about a day. But news of the passing of Andy Griffith is still like a punch in the stomach, 2 weeks after hearing of it. Why is this? What, exactly, was it about the man and the character of Andy Taylor that resonates so deeply with so many people? And has there ever been a man, a character, like this who can be compared to Andy Griffith? I tend to believe he truly was one of a kind and that we will never, ever see…See More

Profile Information

Who is your favorite Mayberry character?
Andrew Jackson Taylor
What is your favorite episode of The Andy Griffith Show?
"Barney's First Car"
Can you share a short bio with us so that we can get to know you better?
Live in a small, I mean small, town, very much like Mayberry. Recall becoming visibly upset as a youngster the day I found out that Mayberry does not literally exist. Thought for sure the series really was filmed in North Carolina. MASH and The Andy Griffith Show are, by far, the 2 greatest tv series ever.
What sort of hobbies or interests do you have?
Hunting, reading, watching TAGS, Pittsburgh Steelers all the way, country life. We live in the woods here, much like the Darlings. However, I listen to heavy metal music, not country.
