Profile Information

Who is your favorite Mayberry character?
Miss Ellie (my mother in real life)
What is your favorite episode of The Andy Griffith Show?
The Christmas Story (if I had to choose one and only one to ever see again)
Can you share a short bio with us so that we can get to know you better?
I grew up in Southern California with my mother Elinor Donahue, my father television executive producer Harry Ackerman, and my brothers.
Though I followed, or tried to, in each of their steps over the years I was not a very good actor, and in production I was only ever in support roles.
In 2004 I began my second calling by first attending seminary in Norther Virginia where I still live. I am an Episcopal priest, married, with two adult children.
Currently I am writing a book on what it was like to grow up with "Hollywood" parents.
What sort of hobbies or interests do you have?
I love to write, and read mysteries (the more hard boiled, the better). I am also a film buff and classic tv fan (how could I not be?).
