"I always thought the difference between a town and a city was the population. Since Mayberry was more populous than a village and not populous enough to be a city, then it is a town. I have a beard so I should know!"

"I found another sign, this refers to Mayberry as a city, but I don't ever recall seeing a "Town City Limits" sign anywhere. I've seen village city limits signs up here in Michigan though."
