Sorry to take so long to reply. Pretty sure I can remember my grandmother telling me about how Amos 'n' Andy was so popular at one point in the 30s that the theaters would pause the movie and play the show over the loudspeakers because otherwise people would stay home and forego the picture show rather than miss "The Boys" on the radio. This might not be the best place to say it, but the Kingfish and the Mystic Knights Of The Sea were and still are the absolute greatest in showbiz to me.
