What happened to the ol' 40 acre backlot. There was a rumor that it was demolished in the 1970's. I think that Mt. Airy should add a big canyon Resevior complete with the homes of ever resident. Oh Yeah forgot to mention O' Malley's cabin.

It would be great if Mt. Airy put facades on their buildings to look like Mayberry. It would make it more like the town. Just a thought

Yes, I agree, the Mayberry back lot as tourist attraction would have raked in millions without any doubt !!

It is a shame they didn't save Mayberry as a tourist attraction.  It was America's hometown!
