Mayberry Replicas

Hello replica owners, and those that enjoy looking at them!

I've created an album of Mayberry Patrol Car Replicas that I think you'll enjoy looking through. (Note: Visit the album to see owner and other information about the cars.)

I'll be adding more photos to the album so if you have a replica upload a photo and I'll add it to the album so others can view it.  I've been tagging the car photos as "patrol car replicas" to make them easier to search for.

Here are a few stories related to the Mayberry Squad Car Rendezvous which was held in Bradford, Ohio during the mid 1990's.

We now have the Mayberry Squad Car Nationals (since 2001) where owners of Mayberry replicas can show off their cars.

I would love to see Mayberry Patrol cars from the different eras of Mayberry.  I know that the show had Fairlanes and Galaxies for the 60's but would love to see a patrol car from the 40's through today.  Love to see a modern Ford Crown Vic or Dodge Charger painted with the Mayberry star on the side.  Problem is, you would probably have to trailer them to events due to it looking like a real patrol car.  Still would be nice to see the evolution of the Mayberry Patrol Car.  I may start doing some in models.  I will post any pictures of ones that I do.

Wasn't the squad car in the first season a ford fairlane?

Hey y'all! I'm not a squad owner yet but I am looking for one. I would like to find one already restored. Anybody know of one that is for sale? If not, where is the best place to find one? I really like the 61-63 galaxie

I just picked up my 1965 Squad Car.  It had an all new black paint job and most of the chrome emblems were replaced.

Ihave a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 I  bought it in 2009 on ebay from Dallas Texas. We have spent a lot of money on it but we have had lots of fun with our car at parades, car shows, festivals, fairs and many church events with our ministry. God has been so good to us . We all have something to Praise the Lord!!

I have a mayberry car. It is a 1964 Ford Gallaxy and I purchased it from my mayberry buddy Phil "Ernest T Bass" Fox. He had two including a 1963......Sure has brought alot of enjoyment to me.

That's great, Ken. I need to figure out how to make my squad car kind'a pay for itself.  An expense paid weekend trip sounds like fun! Enjoy it!

I received an invitation to take my squad car to a weekend car show at an upscale resort in northern Wisconsin in May.  They will be paying our expenses for the weekend to come and the squad car will be the featured car with its picture being used for all their publicity.  There will also be a Greet and Meet session.  Should be a great time to share my love of Mayberry.

Hey Tom, thanks for the feedback.  I bought a very good marine battery too and that seemed to help.  I only had one parade after I installed it and had no problems, so I am hoping that will take care of the problem.

Comment by Tom Rusk on January 11, 2012 at 10:02pm

Ken:  I solved that problem with a new HD marine battery from NAPA (About $70.00).  Also I've learned to not run my headlights (only parking lights) in parades and rev the engine whenever the parade stops or I'm coasting downhill.  I hope this helps.

Hey, you ought to fly down to Greenville, SC and attend out Mayberry Festival in Westminster.  Would love to have you.

Tom
