Hello IMayberry Folks,Like so many fans, I grew up on the Andy Griffith show and, almost immediately, had favorite characters. I especially love Barney, and Don Knotts was in one of my favorite movies as a child as well (the Ghost and Mr. Chicken). Hello iMayberry folks!I've loved the Andy Griffith show since I was a kid, watching the reruns on Channel 50 in Detroit, Michigan.I'm working on a DVD/ Blu-ray project right now that includes what may be the first footage of Don Knotts, on a 1948 episode of Arthur Godfry's Talent Scouts show. Does anyone know if Knotts appeared in any film before this appearance? I'm working on a liner notes for the set, and so far can't find any reference that goes back further. I'm an animator and professor of animation history. Besides animation, I especially like the comedy shows I grew up with, including The Andy Griffith Show, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres and Gomer Pile.
What sort of hobbies or interests do you have?
I collect films (16 and 35mm) and produce a series of DVDs and Blu-rays of rare animation and other films
