J. Edgar Hoover did exist he was mentioned in a few TAGS episodes including Andy saves Barney's Morale and Crime free Mayberry and probably more. He died in 1972 which would be 4 years after TAGS ended. I believe Hoover was only mentioned in the Black and White Episodes to be more specific the first 2 or 3 seasons maybe. But look him up. I always wondered like in Andy saves Barney's Morale what Floyd meant by "We could have a trade Barney here, for J. Edgar Hoover."
