A Facebook friend today posted this great image of Paul Hartman (Emmett Clark) with actress-dancer Ginger Rogers. Thought you'd enjoy.
As you may know, Paul was no stranger to dance, so it's not unusual to see him "standing in" for Fred Astaire here. Paul and his wife Grace were popular stars of the vaudeville and Broadway stages from the 1920s - early 1950s. They won the 1948 Tony Award for best actor & actress in a musical-comedy.
(Paul and Grace split up the early 1950s. She continued to perform as a dancer, notably in 1950s TV variety shows, until her death in 1955. And Paul chose to take the road of character acting, eventually "moving" to Mayberry in 1967.)
