The Studio City Patch is reporting that actor R. G. Armstrong died on July 27. R. G. died peacefully at age 95.
TAGS watchers will fondly remember him as Flint in season 1's "Ellie Saves a Female." A close friend to Andy Griffith, R. G. also had a small role in A FACE IN THE CROWD (1957), and played the Sheriff in the MATLOCK 2-parter "The Hunting Party" (1989), an episode shot in Manteo NC.
