Now I remember a little bit of the lyrics to a TAGS song. Could someone tell me what episode and what song this is? It goes "Same old train that brought me here gonna take me back again! Riding on that new river train. Same old train that brought me here gonna take me back home again! Riding on that new river train..,"? Thanks - John

I came across a nice surprise in a set of 100 vintage TV shows I purchased. There were a few episodes of, 'The Johnny Carson Show,' a one season, prime time variety show he had on CBS in 1955. Jack Prince portrayed an old Navy buddy of Johnny's in one episode, who happened to be in the audience and heckled Johnny during the monologue until he let him get on stage to perform. Jack was primarily a musical stage actor and became good friends with Andy on Broadway. Andy later paid tribute to his friend by naming a character, Upchurch, Jack's real last name, in the episode, 'The Cow Thief.'
I rarely have occasion to wear a suit and when I do, folks tend to notice and pay me a compliment. I usually come back with my fav line from the series, "I would've greased ma' shoes but when I do that the cats all follow me." I was fortunate enough to have seen Jack Prince sing, 'Look Down That Lonesome Road,' at the 30th Anniversary TAGS event at Charlotte in 1990. He was in poor health and I'm sure the trip from California was difficult for him, but the look on his face as the fans gave him a rousing ovation was pure joy and appreciation. He was moved to tears by the affection the fans showed him. He passed away in 1994.
