Someone mentioned in another thread about the TAGS being continuously on the air since it's first broadcast, and that got me to thinking about my first exposure. Apparently, none of my local channels got the message about it's popularity. I'm 46, and I never saw an episode of TAGS until in the 1990s. The image of Andy and barney was so popular that I knew about it, but never saw an episode until the 90s.
That may sound strange for a guy 46, but keep in mind, most of my childhood was in the days of three channels and no DVDs. Oddly enough, none of the three channel's local broadcasting ever included TAGS reruns. I finally got a satellite in the mid 90s and started watching. I thought it was the best show ever made. When I finally got a satellite, then my local channel started showing reruns in the evenings.
When was your first exposure? Did anyone see it during the original broadcasting?
