What is a "GRADY"?

In Aunt Bee's Brief Encounter, the neighboring sheriff uses the word "GRADY". I have never heard of this word before. I assume in this case it refers to older ladies?

  • That makes sense! Especially given the past tense “stayed” is used, which I only caught now given the captioning. Sometimes I see things in a way nobody else does.

  • I thought it was just the last name of the family in Mt. Pilot.
